As a holistic wellness and nutrition coach myself, I’m constantly keeping my eye out on all the latest research and books on various aspects related to overall health, wellness, non-conventional/alternative ways to address most common chronic conditions that so many people today are unnecessarily suffering from... Not being very averse on the subject of cancer and all aspects related to this scary epidemic of the 21st century, I started to look for ways to educate myself on this subject, in order to not only better understand the causes of this scary diagnosis, but also to learn of various ways that can help me, my loved ones and my clients to prevent cancer from ever developing in the first place. Liana Werner-Gray’s “Cancer-Free with food” book couldn’t have come at a better time. The book and the information Liana shares in this book is incredible, scientific-based, and life-changing for anyone and everyone who’s either currently battling cancer, has a loved one suffering from this diagnosis, or for anyone looking to prevent cancer from ever developing. The current cancer statistics are alarming: one in two men and one in three women in US will face a cancer diagnosis at some point in their lifetime, plus by the year of 2050 the number of new cancer cases is predicted to double... If these statistics don’t stop you in your tracks and make you want to learn and take control of your health, then I don’t know what will... However, knowledge is information and power. As Liana points out in her book, learning that our nutritional choices affect whether or not we get cancer, should give us a sense of control and empowerment over your own health destiny. In this book, Liana brilliantly points out and provides a ton of evidence on the fact that our nutritional choices, exercise, thoughts, feelings & emotions, as well as environmental toxins - all play a huge role in whether or not cancerous genes will ever be turned off and developed in our bodies. Unlike commonly believed, we are NOT our genes - our genetic predisposition is NOT the only thing that determines whether or not we are under a risk of developing cancer. Believe it or not, our genes are only responsible for 5% chance of us developing cancer, whereas the remaining 95% of the risk is determined by our lifestyle choices, such as diet, exercise, thoughts & feelings, stress management, environmental toxins to name a few. Therefore, I highly encourage you to not buy into conventional and main-stream approach that there’s not much you can do about preventing your risk of getting cancer in the first place - there’s a whole lot you can do to highly, highly diminish your risk of ever being diagnosed with cancer. So, take control of your health and take the power back into your hands by grabbing a copy of this book and educating yourself on this literally life-saving subject - you’ll be so glad you did - GUARANTEED!!! The book is laid out in an easy to navigate way. In the first part of the book, Liana will educate you on which foods to eat to strengthen your health and which foods to avoid, even going as deeply as breaking this information down as it applies to specific, most common form of cancers... Especially helpful part in the book is the “7 Key Nutritional Principles for Preventing & Overcoming Cancer”, in which Liana sums up the main nutritional principles to adapt for cancer prevention. And the 200+ easy and delicious, nourishing recipes are just a cherry on top!!!
This book unearthed a lot of opportunities for me to stay healthy that I was previously unaware of. This book is a valuable resource for anyone, regardless of whether one has cancer or not. However as someone who’s had people close to me affected by cancer, with three recent cases in my immediate family, I understand the importance of preventative measures to reduce the risk of getting it. This book focuses on just that. It includes a multitude of recipes the are both nutritious and delicious (having tried the Broccoli/Cauliflower Popcorn I can attest to this), and therefore provides one with tangible options to improve one’s well-being.
Cancer Free with Food is an incredibly powerful book for anyway who wants to heal or prevent cancer. It was written by cancer survivor, Liana Werner-Gray, who shares some of her secrets of how she healed from her own cancer. Liana helps readers feel empowered to make their own decisions, with their own doctors, on how best to heal or prevent various types of cancers. This book is well organized into two main sections. Part 1 “Food is Medicine” is packed with ways to use food, to strengthen your immune system, including the top 15 cancer healing foods. Liana also shares ways to help prevent weakening your immune system, by telling you what the 15 most toxic foods on this planet are. I absolutely loved this part of the book! Part 2 “Cancer Free with Food Recipes” has recipes for food and drink for every meal of the day. I love how quick and easy some of these recipes are to make and that the book ends with nutrient-rich desserts. This book has all the cutting edge cancer protocols and is the best cancer book that I have ever read! When I first read Cancer-Free with Food I was truly inspired to change my diet for preventative purposes. Having had my grandfather and cousin with cancer I found that the recipes within the book can definitely help one nourish the body. The book allowed me to become well rounded in respect to different cancer treatments, recipes, and lifestyle health changes. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to help out their loved ones or simply become educated in the matter.
I met Liana in the beginning of 2018 and kept in contact since then. It was just a few months after my last chemo treatment. I had stage 4 cancer cervical to ovaries. 2017 I had a hysterectomy and had a port put in. I had the chemotherapy teacher before getting treatment. The nurse talks about the chemo drugs and she talks about the food to eat and not eat during treatments. I wish I had met Liana sooner to get the daily foods to repair from the inside out when I was sick before I found about Cancer during chemo. Since doing the Super food shakes with the nutritious goodness in each one to eat healthy and help reduce my tumor, thyroid and weight and re-gain energy. I started reading the earth diet book. I started the YMCA. I feel better with sleep, my body happy, and more energy. I lost the weight I gained before and during my chemo treatment. Some people lose weight. I am healthy and eating well, the chemo really takes a toll on your everyday life. "I worked through my chemo treatment, only missed on chemo day.” Did PT rehab after treatment to help me learn to do things again and take my time getting out of bed, walking, prepare food, normal everyday care. I took breaks in between normal activities. I learned after my treatment I had a higher thyroid number so I had to take a pill 1 time a day to help it get back to normal. Today I have lost weight in a healthy way with foods and exercise. I gained energy and health with my gym classes and machines that were easy on my body. I have reduced my thyroid and tumor to normal results. I got my CT scan results back today. My organs are healthy and no sign of cancer spread. The notes said unremarkable. Well that's awesome to hear. I have done everything I can to recover and bring my health up and I have great numbers. It takes work and a lifestyle change for the best. I have been waiting patiently for this book to come together and I shared the knowledge I had from my journey to share with Liana. She worked hard to get the facts together for all of us. I was excited for this book. Having the other books and this new one "Cancer Free with Food" I can put together all of information in one. Since having Cancer I wanted to know what new studies they had on other foods I haven't tried and what they can do for me. I see there is 15 foods that you use that is good to have in your grocery list and put in your meals, desserts, spices. I do love the section for food swaps. I have people asking me what swaps I use. I wanted to eat my same favorite foods but healthier. I wrote a list of what foods I like the most and looked them up in the book so can find the food swap. I really like sweets and desserts so I needed a solution for them. Cancer loves sugar and red meat and other bad processed foods and more. After getting my foods and fresh produce stands I can figure out my budget fresh to table. I can make 6- 10 32 oz bottles. I got a spot freed up in the freezer. 1 daily Super food drink is 1 good thing your body can have every day 4-6 ozs. Then work out the meals. Your time is freed up for the week and plans your time for work, play, gym and sleep. I feel good each week with a little planning and cut your budget in half. This book is a must-have for anyone navigating cancer or trying to prevent it (which is everyone in the Western world these days!). Liana Werner-Gray has written yet another best-seller that is easy to understand and implement into your everyday lives. She has been there herself and knows the struggles patients go through. She also has incredible recipes that will keep you eating healing foods for a lifetime. This is both a handbook full of necessary tips for healing and a recipe book. Just get it! We all need this!!!
