Overview

Read the hilarious, candid (and sometimes not-so-nice), diaries of Jamie Kelly, who promises that everything in her diary is true...or at least as true as it needs to be.

Dear Dumb Diary,

My social studies teacher, Mr. VanDoy, never smiles. I know that's hard to believe, because everybody smiles about something, right?

Isabella smiles when her brothers get in trouble. Angeline smiles when she thinks about how much prettier she is than, like, a waterfall or a unicorn. I smile when I think about a unicorn kicking Angeline over a waterfall. But Mr. VanDoy doesn't smile at all. I wonder if when you become an adult, you can lose your sense of humor the way you lose your teeth or hair or fashion sense.

The theme of this book is that a girl named Jami, also the author of the books, talks about situations that happen at school or at home. This book was a very good and funny. In all of the Dear Dumb Diary books she is always talking how much she hates this girl named Angeline who is very pretty and popular. She also talks about the lunch monitor Mrs.Bruntford who is very strict when it comes to meatloaf Mondays. Then her friend Isabelle who is always getting back at someone when they do something to her. I can relate to how the lunch monitor Mrs.Bruntford makes you eat the food you don't like. This isn't one of the best books that I have ever read but it is okay and teenagers would like it a lot if they were ever want to get into this series. This book was a funny and very informational about her life, her friends, her family, and sometimes even her animals.

Jamie is back, this time learning that adults might actually have their own lives and personalities. It's nice to see her growing up a little, but still maintaining her voice and spark.
