In this spellbinding novel, Lestat, rebel outlaw, addresses the tribe of vampires, telling us the mesmerizing story of how he became prince of the vampire world, and of the formation of the Blood Communion, and how his vision for the Children of the Universe to thrive as one, came to be.

Lestat takes us from his ancestral castle in the snow-covered mountains of France to the verdant wilds of lush Louisiana, with its lingering fragrances of magnolias and night jasmine; from the far reaches of the Pacific’s untouched islands to the 18th-century city of St. Petersburg and the court of the Empress Catherine. He speaks of his fierce battle of wits and words with the mysterious Rhoshamandes, proud Child of the Millennia, reviled outcast for his senseless slaughter of the legendary ancient vampire Maharet, avowed enemy of Queen Akasha, who refuses to live in harmony at court and who threatens all Lestat has dreamt of . . .

Another fun story in the series.

Enjoyed. Finished book in two nights. I love all of Anne Rice books. Love her writing and the story in Blood Communion.

This book was all right. It was written well as all this author's books are. However, it certainly was not the best book in the series. It had a fairly long and redundant introduction and the epilogue consisted of the inconsequential, rambling thoughts of the main character. I would have liked to read more about the ghosts in this series. The rest of this book was very enjoyable, and worth reading. I hope more books in this series are to follow.

Don't get me wrong. Is Anne Rice a terrific writer still? Of course. Is the character of Lestat perfectly portrayed? I don't know. I most of it was the rambling of Lestat mind the introduction to the story went on and one. The exit of the story was exactly the same. It seemed to drone on and on forever until I grew quite bored and had a simply skim through. Maybe I was just expecting more action and when there was actual action it was more about the gory details than anything.

I love this woman, just as Lestat loves his fellow vampires. Incredible read. Wanted to stay up late and read! If you have followed Lestat over the years, put this on your Christmas gift list. No disappointments.

To the vampire Lestat and all the undead we read about. The ancient undead we knew nothing about, came together and formed their own community, and gave us a complete ending.

Anne Rice has once again bestowed humanity on nonhuman creatures. Lestat ‘s worries, doubts, fears and strengths can be paralleled in any great modern leader.

I've been an avid Vampire Chronicle/Anne Rice fan since the very first book. This was a good read and I really liked it but it seems to be a bit watered down from earlier books. That being said, I still loved it.

After "Atlantis", the mystery and majesty of the vampires sorely needed restored and refocused. "Blood Communion" succeeds in this. Lestat finally embraces maturity and change and the saga is pushed forward. Some seriously shocking scenes are in the book and the reader has to remember to see the horror of the moments from the viewpoint of the vampires. Overall fast, good entertaining read.
