What is there to say about Beware of Me by Cynthia Eden that hasn’t already been said? Ethan and Carly have known each other since they were teenagers, but went their separate ways after Carly was kidnapped and her attacker was killed. Their past comes back to haunt them and Ethan comes up with a plan in order to get her back into his life. Ethan is not a soft guy, nor is he nice, or a law abiding citizen, but he is willing to do anything it takes to protect Carly. Carly is recovering from gunshot wounds in NY, working at a PR firm. She dismisses Ethan’s warnings of danger until the FBI shows up warning her of the same danger and she must choose who she wants to protect her. Ethan realizes that he is not going to let her go again after all the years they spent apart. Carly quickly shows her strength and her compatibility with a guy like Ethan. The scenes between the two are hot and sizzle right off the page. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but I loved this one and plan to read the others soon. You can never go wrong with a Cynthia Eden book. Received ARC in exchange for honest review from NetGalley

## Fantastic read. I love Ethan. He's hot, hot, hot. And Carly was great too. They have fabulous chemistry together. As always, Cynthia writes an intriguing story that's impossible to put down. Well done, Ms. Eden. My only complaint is that they didn't have a traditional ending. Ergo, 4 stars. Great to see badass Sophie and Faith again in action as well. Can't wait for Victor's story. Been waiting for his story for a while.

Now, about "Beware of Me". Glad Ethan didn't turn into a goody-two-shoes to get Carly. Good story, wish there had been more of the other characters in this book

#4 in the her brilliantly written Romantic Suspense "Dark Obsession", while can be read as a stand alone, I'd suggest reading the series in its entirety. Fast paced, romantic thriller, filled with darkness, suspense, mystery, passion, romance, danger, and love. This is one of those stories that grabs the reader and won't let go, until you have read it to its entirety. Carly Shay and Ethan Barclay are inexplicably tired together thru their past, secrets and love. A story of second chances, murder, criminals, monsters and a killer out for more than blood...Carly is in grave danger and Ethan will become the monster and more, everyone believes him to be, to protect and save the one he loves more than life itself, Carly. Fans of romantic suspense with twists and turns, fast paced drama, passionate embraces, electrifying plot, strong, determined characters and thrill rides of emotions, you are in for a treat. If you enjoy thrilling Suspense and dark obsession, than definitely pick up "Beware of Me". But, be forewarned...a page Turner you won't be able to put down. Another page turner from Ms. Eden! *Received for an honest review from the publisher via Net Gallery* Rating: 5 Heat rating: Hot Reviewed by: AprilR, courtesy of My Book Addiction and More

This is the second novel that I've read by Cynthia Eden. I really enjoyed the other novel (Die for Me) and I think that may have somehow tainted my views on this one. To be honest, I don't know. All I do know is that I wasn't as entranced with this one as I was with the other. I am not big on reading a book from the middle of a series if I haven't read the other novels first. I can't tell you how many books I've seen that look good but it's a mid-series book and I refuse to pick it up until I've read the previous novels. This one was like that also but it specifically said at the bottom of the blurb on Goodreads that this book was a stand-alone. Here's the deal ... I picked this one up and I felt like I was missing something. I felt like that for the first quarter of the book. There just seemed to be things that were out of context or something. I don't know. It felt disjointed and the only thing that I could come up with was that I was missing little tid-bits of info from the other books in the series. And I think that really contributed greatly to my not connecting with this one. That's not to say that this book is bad, it isn't. It's a good book but I would highly recommend reading the previous books in the series before you pick this one up. I think that I missed a big chunk of background info that would play a pretty big part in the plot and storyline. I didn't really connect with the characters from the beginning. I felt like I was reading a story but I wasn't experiencing it ... if that makes sense. I didn't fall into the story and get lost and I really missed that because I had it with Die for Me. While I felt disjointed from this book, there are quite a few surprises that I didn't expect that kept the story clicking forward throughout the whole book. Just when I would think that I had something figured out, something would happen and I was completely shocked with the new revelations. It's nice for a book to keep me on my toes and not be predictable. I wish that I had connected with it more in the beginning so that I could fully appreciate these twists in the end. I'll probably give this author another shot in the future ... probably not with a book in the middle of a series if I hadn't read the previous ones but another actual stand-alone would be great. * I received this novel in exchange for an honest review *

A Fantastic Book Contemporary Romantic Suspense New York City Ethan Barclay has been called many things in his life including killer, criminal and monster. He usually doesn’t care what people say though. He is hard, brutal and tough when he needs to be. Though even the most dangerous of men can have a weakness. Carly Shay is and will always be Ethan’s weakness. Their pasts are intertwined together and have been melded and twisted by blood and death. The hardest thing Ethan ever did was walk away from Carly. It was also his one good deed. Ethan felt Carly deserved far better than him. He wanted her to have a life that didn’t involve paying for his sins, a life that was perfect. Now Carly’s life is on the line when secrets from their past are revealed. Carly and Ethan’s enemies are closing in on them. Ethan is not going to let Carly be threatened. He will move heaven and hell to protect her. He isn’t going to lose Carly again. The ones foolish enough to try and take her from him are about to find out just how deadly Ethan can truly be. This is another wonderful book in a series that keeps the suspense and action coming with each and every one. The story line is unique and proves to be addictive as the reader will want to keep turning the pages just to see how this one will turn out. With all the twists and turns this one takes it will keep the reader on the edge of their seat until the very end. This is one author that always delivers great books no matter which series the reader is reading.

When Ethan was mention in practically the first paragraph of Watch Me, I knew I’d be waiting impatiently for his book. I waited and I wasn’t disappointed. Ethan is a superhot dominant male. He wants Carly back, but why he ever let her go to begin with is beyond me. He loved her. But he thought she’d be better off without him. (Why do they always think that?) She needed him, and he wasn’t there for her. You can tell I am kinda pissed off he left her and got on with his life of women and crime can’t you? It’s a book, I know! But really?? If he loved her and was keeping track of her why didn’t he know all her woes? She just took him back no questions asked. That kinda pissed me off too. I’d have made him work a little harder to get back in my good graces. I know I sound harsh about the characters, but I did love the book and I highly recommend it. I did read Watch Me and Want Me. I have Need Me and I need to read that to get more background on Carly and Ethan’s story. I’ll update this review when I do. So if you want to read about a hot alpha male, Ethan, this is the book for you! I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

The 4th book in the Dark Obsession series tells the story of bad boy Ethan and Carly, Julianna’s sister. This was a special book for me as we don’t often get to read the villain/bad boy’s side of story. Ethan has been the series bad boy since book #1. In the previous book, Need Me, Carly’s sister was in danger and so Carly and Ethan met once again. We never really knew the real Ethan until he encountered Carly again. Ethan travels to New York to do what he should have done long ago, protect Carly. After everything Carly has been through she just wants to live as normal as she can manage. She wants nothing but to forget her past, especially the secret she and Ethan share. I just loved Ethan and Carly. Ethan wanted to protect her but it was Carly who really protected him all these years. Both main characters were a mystery. They might share a deadly secret but each had their own too. Carly was a very complicated character, even more than Ethan but he was the real enigma. Uncovering their past was like riding a roller coaster. Unpredictable! They were strong, brave and courageous. Ethan wasn’t a villain not to this story and not to the ones before. Circumstances forced him to take actions that he may regret but at the time were necessary. The tension is palpable from the beginning and yet you will never guess what’s coming next. In Beware of me we also get to see Victor Monroe, Sophie and Lex and Faith. Good news is that Victor will be getting his story in Mine to Protect, perhaps with Zoe?! I really want to read Victor’s story. He seems like an alpha male type of a guy and every time Zoe’s name is mentioned in the book he was like a berserker. He is going to be a fierce main character. I wish we could get some more info about Faith too (maybe even her cousin, Charles). I didn’t think we would see her again but she really has an important role in the book. Beware of me isn’t your typical romance book. It has many surprises, much suspense, action, mystery and many more twists. Who is the villain is the villain’s book? That’s for you to find out. I can’t wait for more. Highly recommended!

Mystery, suspense, betrayal and revenge: BEWARE OF ME is the fourth installment in Cynthia Eden’s adult, contemporary Dark Obsession erotic, dark romance, suspense series. This is businessman Ethan Barclay, and PR employee Carly Shay’s storyline- a story of second chances, dark secrets and dangerous pasts. Carly is Julianna Smith’s step sister (Need Me #3) and her tale began to unravel in the previous story. BEWARE OF ME is a stand alone storyline where some of the previous storyline characters plays a secondary or supporting role although for cohesion and history between the characters I recommend reading the series in order. Told from third person point of view BEWARE OF ME follows Ethan Barclay as he vows to protect Carly Shay from the evil that threatens to destroy her life. Years before Carly and Ethan found themselves the victims of a psychotic crime boss wherein the mantra kill or be killed was the reality of their situation. Fast forward to present day where Carly becomes the target of someone seeking revenge for the sins of years ago-a missing crime boss whose minions want something in return. Carly will become the victim of more than one stalker when reputation and money are on the line. BEWARE OF ME is a story of second chances for Ethan and Carly. Following their horrific ordeal Ethan pushed Carly out of his life to protect her from the darker side of his criminal past. But both of their pasts have come seeking revenge, and Ethan is determined to protect Carly-no matter the cost. Ethan is a wanted man by the FBI, and the FBI want to uncover what it is Carly is hiding. Ethan is an alpha male and an anti hero-an unscrupulous hero whose own moral code is a series of shades of grey and doesn’t have time to worry about collateral damage. Ethan has vowed to protect Carly with his life when the past comes seeking vengeance and retribution. The relationship between Carly and Ethan is intense and dramatic; they share a dark and secreted past that has left both with physical and emotional scars. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative; the sexual chemistry is hot and heavy. Ethan is a businessman whose legitimate enterprises hide a criminal past; Carly is a woman whose emotional fragility is tested time and time again. From unsympathetic law enforcement to questionable medical ethics, our heroine finds herself re-victimized at every turn. The secondary and supporting characters include Sophie Sarantos (Want Me #2) and Detective Faith Chestang-both of whom were introduced in previous storylines-Faith has had a recurring role throughout the series. We are also introduced to FBI special agent Victor Monroe whose own life will become entrenched with Ethan Barclay when an infamous crime lord’s daughter is somehow connected to our next storyline hero. Dr. Keith Nelson is a questionable psychiatrist whose professional relationship with Carly begins to cross the line between right and wrong; Ethan’s personal driver Charles may or may not be what he proclaims to be; and Curtis Atkins, a man who is determined to make Carly pay-once and for all. BEWARE OF ME is a fast paced storyline of mystery and suspense; betrayal and revenge; romance and love. There are moments of regret and heartbreak coupled with a profession of love but a promise for the future comes with an entirely different set of rules. Cynthia Eden adds a few twists and turns to a storyline that is as unpredictable as the characters we have grown to love.

I have to admit I am conflicted over how to write a review for Beware of Me (Book 4 – Dark Obsession) by Cynthia Eden. In the name of fairness, I will start out focusing on the positives. There are quite a few twists and turns, but one thing stays the same. Ethan Barclay, a mafia now turning legit hero, will protect Carly Shay at all costs. For this mafia romance reader, a strong, likeable, alpha protective hero who earns redemption/salvation via his one true love is always a hit. Ethan definitely fits that bill. He regrets walking away from Carly before, even though it was to keep her safe. However, he definitely does not plan to do that ever again. Carly is a strong, somewhat broken, heroine who will also act selflessly to protect Ethan. Unfortunately, she seems to be a magnet for dangerous kidnapping, knife-yielding, shoot-out situations. Lucky for her, Ethan seems to always be close by. *****Possible spoiler alert****** Honestly, I did not quite know what to make of the Curtis/Quincy scenario when it was revealed. To avoid spoilers, I will try to be vague. (Inhale)…Quincy did what he would do…then Curtis did what he would do…Then Carly spent time in a psych ward after doing what she did…after Quincy did what he did to her. Then the FBI agent Victor seemed all to ready to put her back there…without ordering a 2nd psych consult from an unbiased 3rd party doctor…because, after all, the unscrupulous, devious Dr. Nelson’s accusations/behavior should have been a red flag to make this veteran FBI agent suspicious. If nothing else, Dr. Nelson should have been considered a biased doctor, because he had accused Carly’s boyfriend of attacking him. Therefore, could have just been out for revenge. And least we don’t forget, Dr. Nelson’s side job, which was the main reason Carly found herself in danger to begin with….(Exhale) Do you follow me? I didn’t think so. I think I just made my point. It was a little too much. Almost like too many pieces to a puzzle. Even though they fit, it would have been better to have had fewer pieces but one stronger, solid story. Maybe that is why by the end, I started to feel the story was dragging out longer than necessary. I sincerely hope others like this book. Strangely, I’m still not sure if I did or not. Overall, it was an interesting, engaging read, but in hindsight something felt off. Likely because, I think the mystery/thriller part could have been written better. Though they are all stand-alones, I suspect I would have understood more about the background of the secondary characters if I had read the previous three books first. Especially book #3, which involved Julianna and the reference made in Book 4 of Carly being shot while helping her. Title: Beware of Me (Book #4, Dark Obsession series), Author: Cynthia Eden, Each book is a stand-alone, no cliffhanger, HEA, all seem to have stalkers, violence, and steamy scenes. Book Order: Watch Me – Gwen & Chance (12/9/14), Want Me – Sophie & Lex (1/27/15), Need Me – Julianna & Devlin (2/24/15), Beware of Me – Carly & Ethan (7/28/15)

Excellent story. Riveting. Smoking hot. Will keep you guessing to the very end. Carly was raped at 17, she was kidnapped by her boss. Ethan helped her kill him. Now years later they are thrown together again because someone is after her. Ethan will give his life for her and she would do the same. She has many enemies and Ethan will do whatever it takes to protect her. Sex. Suspense. RECEIVED A COPY FROM NETGALLEY.

Beware of Me by Cynthia Eden is a fast paced, edgy, entrancing romantic suspense. I really enjoyed Ethan and Carly, I felt like they were perfect as hero and heroine for a few reasons. I liked that they had a history, even if it was years ago. I liked that it wasn't just one of them suffering from issues in the past...they both were. The feelings that they both still have for the other is palpable, even if Carly is still so hurt that she doesn't want anything to do with Ethan again. When the past comes back to haunt them, and someone wants them both to pay, Ethan will do anything to keep Carly safe - even if she resists him at almost every turn. I really liked Ethan. He is so intense, he's definitely a take charge alpha man! At first his behavior and his actions felt kind of stalker-ish, but the way he cares for Carly and respects her really shone through. He left her the first time because he didn't think he was good enough for her. She only knows he left her at one of the worst times of her life. Carly was a good heroine. I could understand her feelings and hurt and why she acted the way she did at times, even if I did feel like she was oblivious at times to the danger pursuing her. I couldn't wait to see if she'd take Ethan back or force him away again, and if Ethan could keep them safe from danger. I really just found myself wanting the best possible outcome for both of them! I felt like they were meant to be together. Cynthia kept me guessing about the suspense and who was after Ethan and Carly. Just when I thought I had it all figured out she'd throw another twist into the plot, more unexpectedness, and kept the mystery strong. Beware of Me has it all - suspense, chills, passion, love and character growth in this second chance romantic suspense. Beware of Me is part of Cynthia's Dark Obsession series, but can easily be read as a stand alone. I'd recommend Beware of Me to any romantic suspense reader!
