As much as I love the fairytale, it was much to short and the plot was quite different from the disney verson. I would still recommend it but it was only 13 pages. happy reading!

Sorry, but to those of you who think Disney, of which I am the most adoring fan, created this or any story the classic movies were of... they did not. Disney made nicer remakes, which turned out amazing. Disney made up their story of Belle.

You have to remember when reading this book, the story is old. Disney didn't create the story of Beauty and the Beast, they adapted it for their intended audience. If you want to know where they got their inspiration, I would highly recommend this.

I haven't read this paticular book but I have the illustrated classic at home and in that Beast was actually a heck of a guy and was nice to her from the beginning. So I like the book as much as the disney movie! (Which I love by the way!)

Catherine R: In the original version of the tale, the leading lady's name WAS Beauty. Disney just changed her name for reasons I don't know.
