With only two more days left to graduation Isabel and Walter must come up with a plan to get balloons instead of bookmarks at graduation. The porcupines aren't allowed to get balloons because they will pop and either hurt or scare someone. After many ideas, Isabel finally comes up with a plan to get a balloon for graduation. They cover themselves in gumdrops so the balloons won't pop and no one will get hurt or scared. Isabel, Walter and Ms. Quill finally get a balloon. This is a great book to show children that never give up on something that you really want, reach and go for your dreams.

This is a very colorful and cute story. It is about Isabel, a porcupine, who would like a balloon like the rest of the class on graduation. Her teacher who is also a porcupline who warns her of the dangers of getting a ballon. Isabel and Walter, her best friend, find a solution to their problem.

This a fairly long picture book about a porcupine who wants a balloon. This book illustrates very colorful pictures to get little kids attention. This is a story of how one gets a balloon one graduation day!

LOVE this book! It is so well written and full of humor and emotions, that my 3 and 5 year old were able to understand clearly what was going on. The illustrations are so adorable and help make the story all the better. It is easy to fall in love with Isabel and all of her porcupine friends! -Frequent children's book reader

I picked this book up on a whim at the library and I'm going to order it very soon. I get so tired of reading rhyming and ridiculous animal tales, but was incredibly delighted to stumble upon this funny little yarn. There is adult humor that goes right over my three year old's head as this adorable porcupine plots a way to have balloons at her graduation. I'm always happy to be entertained right along with my kids when I'm reading to them so I thank the author and illustrator for that. The facial expressions on the animals are perfect and the ending is too creative. I only wish there were more children's books of this caliber.
