Welcome to Make5Wishes

Hana just doesn’t fit in. At school, she feels like the invisible girl. (“No. Not invisible. Being invisible would’ve been cool. I just wasn’t worth noticing.”) And at home, she avoids her parents’ arguments by retreating to her bedroom, where she spends hours online, playing the part of various cool, smart, sexy, and popular alteregos, and kicks back with her all-time idol and very best (though only in her imagination) friend, rebel rocker Avril Lavigne. One night she runs across a mysterious website called Make5Wishes. Somehow, she can’t click away–and before she knows it, she’s ordered a package guaranteed to make dreams come true. But will it end up being a Pandora’s box? It all depends on the lovable but wily demon inside. Is Hana sure she knows what she wants? And does she know that what you want can be very different from what you get?

Don't waste your time, folks. The story is trite, cliche, and adolescent. I didn't like the art, but then I've never been a fan of American comics. 'Ah,' you say, 'but it ISN'T an American comic! It even says in advertisements, 'Plus, be sure to check out the new Japanese manga, Make 5 Wishes, featuring Avril as a main character!' You see that? 'The new JAPANESE MANGA.'' It is neither Japanese, nor is it manga. If you couldn't figure that out from either the art or the main character, well... my condolences. It is yet another one of the many imitation-manga that American artists have flooded the market with. I wish that we could get it right over here, but no matter how they try, our 'manga-ka' always ending with stupid stories and amatuer art. And this is yet another example, but with a pop, parent-approved punk 'princess' slapped on for extra pre-teen marketing value. 'even if it were good it wouldn't be manga, folks... manga is exclusively Japanese. ^.~ No, not even Korean comics are manga. Those are Manwha. Subtle difference.' So, it's been mislabed and overhyped, or else you never would have heard of this sorry tome. If it weren't for Avril's name on it it never would have gained any notoriety, and let us pray for all our sanity that it never does.

...very good. I think that Hana is a very relateable character and the look of the book is awesome. Personally I would have liked it better if they had quoted Avril's songs and if Avril was actully there instead of just being an imaginary friend. I highly recommend this book to all Avril fans.

This book delivers the ultimate sweet and quirky story line of an everyday girl who seems to be the odd one out and doesn't fit in. Struggling with being an adolescent, hana, imagines that avril is her real friend. She begins to realize the effects of her wishes she makes to her little demon and tries to cope with her parents fights. over all it was very charming. It does not have to be a manga or japanese to be a good comic. It's pleasing enough for most teens and tweens.

liked the story but manga is Japanese only. it would have been better if it was made by japan not by americans. animation is not that bad and i think they mean't it in that way
