Dawn had a great life. She has great friends, is really popular, has a nice boyfriend, and is turning 16. What she doesn't know is when she turns 16, her life is going to turn. This new family moves to town and she meets Angelo. Angelo and her immediately fall in love, but a secret between them might tear them apart. What secrets do they share and what will happen to Dawn? I thought this book was great. I felt like I was part of the book, too! I like how the author describes the angels. And there is a twist that you would never expect.

Angels Dawn by Komali da Silva is a great storyline. Unfortunately, I just never connected with the characters and am left with more questions than answers. The cliff hanger ending felt rushed.

***THIS BOOK WAS PROVIDED BY THE PUBLISHER/AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW** This book blew my mind. It had everything: characters with detail and depth, that made you feel you knew them and wanted to know more, and a world that felt real. You get to know Dawn, a high school cheerleader on her 16th birthday. Just a regular girl. And then everything changes. Dawn doesn't understand everything that she sees and experiences, and the people around her seem to know more than they are saying. Angels Dawn by Komali da Silva is an emotional wild ride, keeping you on the edge of your seat. I cannot wait to see more! **Review has been done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official. I love Komali Da Silva's writing!!! She is very talented. The story flowed well for the most part, and I enjoyed getting to know Dawn. Her secondary characters were well developed and I loved them as well. Of course, who wouldn't like Asima? She's loyal, supernatural, and full of spunk. Nate even had a special place in my heart. I felt really bad for the guy. He went through so much in this book. Jan was a little harder to like, but I came around eventually. Bonita, there are just no words. None. I really wanted to like Angelo, but even though he's a good guy, it's disappointing how everything with him worked itself out. I don't think he should have even entered Dawn's life. As for the incident that happened at the beginning of the book, I thought more would be explained as the story went on, but no. I had hoped for more information there. Overall, I loved the book. I felt the author should have clarified some things a little more before the end of the book, but otherwise it was a fantastic four star read!

Reviewed by Charity Tober for Readers' Favorite Angels Dawn by author Komali da Silva is a refreshing and thrilling young adult paranormal read. The story follows a young girl named Dawn Huntington. At the start of the story, all is right with the world as Dawn looks forward to having an amazing sweet sixteen birthday party. Life is good at throwing curve balls though, and Dawn’s perfect party is ruined and her life changed forever when she witnesses a terrible crime on the night of her party. Unable to turn her back on what she’s seen, and also having conflicting feelings toward two different guys, Dawn is forced to make hard choices. There are paranormal aspects to the book (can’t list without getting into spoiler territory) along with romance, mystery, conflict, betrayal, heartache and more. And WOW, what a cliffhanger ending! Can’t wait to read more and see what happens next. I found Angels Dawn to be an ‘I can’t put this book down if I tried’ type of read. The author does a superb job of creating an intense, angst-driven paranormal storyline and I was hooked right from the start. Dawn is a very likeable heroine; I felt her dialogue and reactions to what was going on around her seemed realistic. She was strong-willed, but always tried to make the right choices. She faced so many hardships and obstacles; I was really rooting for her the whole time. Fans of young adult and paranormal genres are sure to find a new favorite author in Komali da Silva.

I loved this book!   Angel’s Dawn had my emotions all over the place.  The paranormal storyline was really interesting and refreshingly different.  I loved that the author didn’t take the easy/predictable way out of situations. Every time something happened, the story took a shocking turn. The characters were so well developed that I felt the same emotions they were feeling, as it was happening to me.  Angel’s Dawn had me happy, giddy, feeling sorry for characters, laughing, and crying. Literally crying – this never happens to me when reading! The book was so good that I wanted to go back and read it again.  It did end in a cliffhanger that had me breathless. Thankfully book 2 is out so I was able to start it right away. I wish I could adequately explain how this book made me feel but I am afraid to give anything away and ruin the experience for anyone else.  Just get the book and see for yourself – you will be happy you did!!

Da Silva takes the divine by storm with this unique new novel.  She develops a world unlike any others while keeping it firmly in the real world.  This is a very well written and entertaining novel.  I was quite impressed and intrigued by the way that this solid storyline was developed, bringing the readers right into the world of the story.  I was engaged throughout and definitely enjoyed my time spent reading it.   I loved the character development in this novel.  Da Silva creates a cast of high school students who actually act like high school students.  I really appreciated the fact that none of them were thrown into situations far beyond their years, nor did they deal with events as if they had decades of life experience under their belts.  It was very refreshing and added to the realism and impact of the novel.  The friendships between the characters in this novel were also truly touching. Overall, this novel was fantastic.  I can’t wait to read more and to find out what happens next in the series.   I’d definitely recommend this debut novel by Da Silva to those who want a little YA fun with a completely unique & shocking storyline.   Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Angels Dawn by Komali Da Silva is a teenage/young adult paranormal that will take you by surprise. First I was not expecting a paranormal book. When I figured out that it was one, it was not the type that I was expecting. There are no vampire, werewolves, and zombies. So if that is what you are looking for, this is not the book for you. Dawn has high hopes for her 16th birthday. Those hopes are dashed when trying to help someone goes really wrong and her life takes an unplanned turn. She loves Nate, her boyfriend/best friend, but it is in the same way that she loves her other best friend Asima. When she meets Angelo, Dawn realizes that she is not being fair to Nate and must let him down without losing his friendship. As Dawn and Angelo seem to be getting closer and closer, Bonita (a friend of Angelo’s family), decides to step in and take Angelo for herself.  That is a watered-down description of the book because I do not want to give away what the paranormal part of the story is. While you may see similarities to other books, this story has one of its own to tell. I refused to even cook supper until I finished with this book. The ending left me with my jaw hanging down and asking “How can it end like that?” I loved this book and cannot wait for the next installment…. Please, please tell me there will be one.  I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It was just “Wow”, but I did feel like there could have been a little more depth to some of the characters. There is also the question of how was that able to happen to someone like him. I would, and have, recommended this book to some of my friends. I think they will like it as much as I did.

YA Paranomal "Romance", Angels, Seers, Oh My! ANGELS DAWN by Komali Da Silva was rather a mediocre story that sometimes read more like someone was trying to tell you about a movie they saw or book they read and didn't flow smoothly.  This story has potential, but needs re-editing.  Lots of typos that are very distracting. Ending was unexpected and then discover it's a series.  Personally, I would not read the next story, Fight for Dawn due out Summer 2014.  I know teens have hormones and although never in the story did they have sex, Angelo sneaking into Dawn's bedroom at night and sleeping in her bed was just wrong.  It was lying and deceitful. I seriously doubt your "guardian angel" would do such. We never did learn more about the 4 men who attacked Dawn and why? Yet she saw the one with the eye piercing several times, including him coming into the family home and getting her dog Night.  Too many situations were started but then abandoned in the over all story. Overall storyline is a 3.5 star, completion of storyline is 3 stars and editing is 3 star,  I received this copy of the book as a gift from the author for an honest review. I very rarely give reviews of a 3.  I do hope the next story is better developed.

What first seems to be a story of young love and suspense quickly becomes a paranormal intrigue I couldn't put down. Good girl Cheerleader Dawn's life is blown apart by a trauma too scary for a 16yr old girl to have to deal with. She has strong family who loves her. She has the support and love of her boyfriend, Nate she's counted on since they were little kids. But is any of that enough to keep her safe and ignite her passion? I loved that Dawn is smart real young women, who thinks for herself. She wants to do what's right and protect her loved ones. Da Silva doesn't write her cheerleaders off as silly mean girl characters and I loved it. Nate, the perfect boyfriend is just what every girl wants and then lets go, because he's too good. Too nice. Too bad it's not that easy for Dawn, because Nate is her best friend and confidant. She can't loose that now when she needs him most. Swagger and charm are not the only thing that is drawing Dawn to Angelo but something dark complicates her choice to be with him. She knows there is something powerful between them, but does she really know all his secrets? The author did an amazing job introducing us to these characters, and then turning our picture of them upside down, when violence, desperation, and love morph them into someone or something else. I highly recommend Angels Dawn. Its not just a romance, not just paranormal. It's a great read and I look forward the next book in the series due to be released this year. I will be on the look out for other work by Komali da Silva in the future.

I was asked to review this by the author. I loved the main characters Dawn n Angelo and Nate. I love my Paranormal Romance books and I wasn't disappointed when I started reading this. It makes you believe you are reading a Romance novel, but as you start getting into the story, it unfolds into something completely different. A love triangle that was intense and mind boggling at times lol. You find out more about the characters as the story unfolds. When you get to the end, you need to know what happens next and that installment will come when Komali da Silva writes Book 2 this Summer. I loved every minute of reading this book and can't wait til the next book comes out.
