What an amazing book! I agree with the other reviews: this book is a must-have for any Little House fan. Wendi Lou Lee’s approach is very interesting, because it is very different from all the books written by the other actors of the show. There is nothing about Hollywood in this book. It is totally about the Little House on the Prairie values (although there are some anecdotes about the show and the actors, as well). Each chapter connects one Little House episode with one biblical verse! This is very well thought... and very uplifting! You rediscover every Little House episode in a new light, you love the show even more.... and you love life even more!! Also, what makes is even greater is that, very obviously, the author, Wendi Lou Lee, lives with the Little House values in her own life. It’s already very clear in her interaction with fans on social media and in Little House events. And you can feel it in every line of her book. She obviously put a lot of love in this project. And it’s a real success!

If you are a Little House On The Prairie fan, you already know Wendi as “Baby Grace”, and you will not miss this wonderful little book. In it, you will find many stories about the TV show, the people who made it and the characters you have been fond of for 45 years. Plus, if you are a christian, a Jesus follower, or someone interested in religion, you will discover how Wendi Lou Lee’s deep faith and her love for Jesus and God, shape each moment of her life. The expression of her faith, and how she lives it as a modern young woman, mother of two teen kids, is really at the core of her writings. But her relation to it remains subtly described (ocurring at the end of each chapter as a starting point to a more profound thinking, if you are willing to dive in it). But even if you are not religious, you can relate to everything she talks about, because really they are things that everyone is experiencing in one's life, whether you’re married or single, whether you have children or not, whether you’re struggling with bills at the end of the month or not. Wendi uses stories, memories and anecdotes from the TV show she was in as a baby girl, each one prompting her thoughts in relation with her own life, and thus engages the reader in a series of questionings (nothing too heavy, you won’t be depressed after the last page, quite the contrary !) about his own thoughts, actions and insecurities. As it is written in a lively, modern and simple style, you really feel a connection with the writer, and you feel just as if you were casually chatting with her for hours in her drawing-room. Despite her young age, Wendi has had her share of hardships (going from losses of dear members of her family, parents’ divorce, health issues leading to delicate surgery, to deceiving romances, insecurities, sense of competition with her twin sister, etc) and also her share of happiness with her loving husband and her two children. It’s the life of somebody who doesn’t hold everything for granted and her experiences are interesting to read about, whether they are sad, funny, scary or soothing. So indulge yourself and read Wendi Lou Lee’s book ! You will be surprised at how eager you are to know more page after page, and you will wish it would be longer.

The Prairie Devotional is a perfect mix of Wendi's life lessons, signifiant memories from favorite episodes and scripture. Each is a quick read but has the depth and authenticity of a great devotional. It is a must for people who love the Little House on the Prairie TV series.
