The enemy has risen from the grave.

Together we slayers must stand

or one by one we will fall.

Ali Bell and Cole Holland's crew of zombie slayers thought they'd won the war against Anima Industries, the evil company responsible for capturing and experimenting on zombies in an effort to discover the secret to immortality. In the last epic clash, the slayers lost many of their crew and closest friends. But Frosty, the ice man himself, has not recovered from one casualty in particular—the love of his life, Kat Parker.

On the path to self-annihilation, Frosty receives a message from beyond—Kat's spirit returns, insisting he partner with rogue slayer Camilla Marks. Frosty will do anything for Kat. Except that. Camilla is the one who betrayed them all, leading to Kat's death. But when Anima rises from the grave to become a force the slayers may not have the strength to overcome, Frosty, Camilla and all the slayers will have to work together to survive the madness.

There is a GLARING PLOT HOLE in this novel that completely ruined the otherwise amazing series. In the third book of the White Rabbit Chronicles Milla had her memories erased by Ali which saved her from being killed by her brother since she did betray everyone. Yet, this fourth book is partially in Milla's point of view and offers no explanation as to how she got her memories back. Was the fact she lost them even remembered when writing this book? The book makes no sense considering one of the main characters should have no recollection as to who she is.

The Good As a huge fan of The White Rabbit Chronicles, I couldn't pass this one up. It's a spin-off, told from alternating POV's of Frosty and Milla. Since Milla is part of the reason that Kat, my absolute favorite character from the series, is dead...let's just say that I didn't go into this as the biggest fan of her's. My absolute favorite part of this story is the fact that all the old characters that I love are still here. Including Kat, since she's a witness now. Witnesses are like angel ghosts that can visit and send messages and help from beyond. It was a lot like reading one of the others. There is a big bad that they are up against along with some zombies. Different powers make themselves known and the plot ramps up when some of their regular powers no longer work. It was great to see the groups working together to get the situation solved. Showalter hasn't been afraid of killing off characters, and I love that the action has that kind of significance. There were some new developments in Mad Zombie Party, so even though it was a spin-off, this ended up being a better conclusion for the series as a whole. We got more information that I enjoyed having to wrap things up with these characters. The Bad The only bad spot in this book is that Ali's character is quite sassy and fun, as well as able to make fun of herself in her own thoughts. While it was interesting to get in Frosty's and Milla's mind, I missed the character that I had gotten so close to with the rest of the stories. The Romance Since Milla was instrumental in the circumstances that resulted in Kat's death, Frosty and most of the others understandably hated her. Showalter had a difficult job of showing us not only her vulnerable side, but also why she should be forgiven. It was a fine dance to make the romance that blossomed between Milla and Frosty believable, but she did a wonderful job with it. Conclusion If you are a fan of The White Rabbit Chronicles, you should absolutely pick this up. Of course, I would not read it unless you have read the series because I don't really think it'd work as a stand-alone. I enjoyed the time with characters that I've come to love, and appreciated getting to see things wrap up here for the whole series. *Originally given 4 1/2 stars at JC's Book Haven "The color drains from her cheeks, but she raises her chin. A defense mechanism. Good. Words can be weapons. Mine are arrows, and they just struck their intended target."

So.. I was a huge fan of the first 3 books and was beyond excited to see there was a fourth book. but when i started reading it i just thought this is no where near the quality of the first 3 books. not even close. the characters are corny, and all the macho man talk has got me rolling my eyes on nearly every page. i am just completely disappointed in this book. i have not even finished it yet and not sure i will. I just can't believe how horrible this book is. such a let down. Are people really liking this? Well.. i have to give this 2 stars and that is being generous. Hope this is the end of the series, it should have stopped at book 3.

I was so incredibly excited when I heard there was going to be another White Rabbit book! And it did NOT disappoint. I loved seeing Frosty and how he was moving on from Kat. I enjoyed watching the development of the character of Milla beyond what we'd seen in the previous volume. A sucker for romance, I really loved watching romances brewing and feelings growing and changing. Of course, it wasn't all happiness and romance, there was still challenges and battles to fight. The action and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and I truly had trouble putting down my Nook to do any "real life" activities! While I'm sad that the series is officially over now, I do love the way things worked out and I loved the little bonuses that we got at the end letting us know how things would turn out for the main characters.

Ok, so we thought it was all over at the end of the trilogy - and it could have been. But I love these guys so much that I jumped on book four when I realized Showalter had kept writing. The thing that stands out the most is that she manages to re-open the whole zombie apocalypse with yet another new twist - and wrap it all up in just one more book. But, I hope there is still more as she leaves some things hovering on the horizon that I'd really like to hear more about. Zombies are back, but they aren't the same breed of zombie the slayers are used to slaying. They've been altered somehow and a new game plan is needed pronto. But the problem with that is is Milla - something funky has happened to the girl and now she's got all these wonky powers that are causing a bit of chaos and catastrophe. This is a romance! A full blown HEA type of romance set in a horror setting, and it was brilliant. There's an acceptance of the past and the moving forward of the future that was woven into every word. Now I just need some more zombie craziness - I want more of them!!! *This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

Reviewed by Francesca and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog I will give you a quick warning to start. If you haven’t read THE QUEEN OF ZOMBIE HEARTS (Book 3) and you don’t want spoilers, then I would say don’t continue reading this review as the main plot of this book revolves around one spoiler from that book. That being said and if you don’t care…. I was shocked when Ms. Showalter announced there would be another book in this series. Book 3 sort of wraps things up in a neat enough way that you could consider that an end, but I understand that it also leaves other people a bit broken hearted behind. It was nice to see her give all the characters a happy ending. Mainly, in this case, Frosty. I always had the feeling that Kat was going to die because of her disease, so Frosty would end up alone. But after Kat is killed in the last book things get shaken up a bit. He starts off this book a devastated mess, not caring about much and trying to cope with the loss the best way he can. Until Kat’s spirit comes to protect him by assigning Camilla to be his bodyguard, as she is meant to save his life at one point soon. Sigh Frosty and Camilla. I felt almost bad for liking them together so much! I should’ve had more love for Kat, no? As much as I love Kat’s personality she was just not right for Frosty in the end and only seeing him with Camilla I realized that. The only thing that gave me pause about this whole situation was the fact that Frosty was supposedly in love with Kat! Unless that all was bull, I just found it a bit hard to swallow that he would fall so deep and so fast for Camilla. But like I said, that doesn’t take away from the fact the ARE perfect for each other and it was nice to see them open up. This book doesn’t lack for action and it was, as with every book in this series, an entertaining read! I find that maybe the romance aspect was a bigger focus in this book than the previous books in the series, but it still gave a finality to the Anima Industries storyline. It gave me a closure in many ways I didn’t know I needed and is the perfect ending to the series.

Ok, so I took a big chance checking this book out seeing as to the fact that I have not read the other three books in this series. I have heard of this series but had yet to check out any of the books in it. I had the chance to read this book and therefore the reason that I read this book having not read the other three. My issues so much were not due to the fact that I had not read the other books; although that was part of it. My real issues is that I was not in love with the world that this series took place. For example I had a hard time instantly getting a picture in my head of what the world looked like that Ali and her friends or I should say companions resided in. Also, there seemed to be a lot of talking and not much action. All of the fighting seems to have happened in the prior novels. Yet, even though I did not care for this book, I do like this author.
