Two New York Times and USA Today bestselling novels together at last!

This is the remarkable story of one endearing dog's search for his purpose over the course of several lives. More than just another charming dog story, W. Bruce Cameron's A Dog's Purpose touches on the universal quest for an answer to life's most basic question: Why are we here?

Heartwarming, insightful, and often laugh-out-loud funny, A Dog's Purpose is not only the emotional and hilarious story of a dog's many lives, but also a dog's-eye commentary on human relationships and the unbreakable bonds between man and man's best friend. This moving and beautifully crafted story teaches us that love never dies, that our true friends are always with us, and that every creature on earth is born with a purpose.
When Buddy is reborn in A Dog's Journey, he realizes that he has a new destiny. He's overjoyed when he is adopted by a vibrant but troubled teenager. When they are suddenly separated, Buddy despairs—who will take care of his girl?

A charming and heartwarming story of hope, love, and unending devotion, A Dog's Journey asks the question: Do we really take care of our pets, or do they take care of us?

A dog travels between lives, from Toby to Bailey to Buddy to Molly to Max and back to a dog named Toby. Each time he discovers his purpose and fulfills it, and once he does so he passes away leaving you sobbing and heartbroken. Finally he joins those he loves in heaven. Ethen, CJ and the others finally welcome him home. I was hesitent about buying the box set but IT IS WORTH IT BY FAR.

(Last official chapter... ;-; ... there will be an epilogue, though)
Winterberry was shaking like a leaf on a tree, standing in her nest.
*That dream wouldn't have come to me by chance... was it sent by StarClan?* A horrible feeling came over her. *The Dark Forest? Do they want me to join the Dark Forest?* Suddenly, Winterberry couldn't stand it anymore. She raced out of camp, tears streaming down her face, ignoring all the cats who tried to stop her. She was blindly running, vision blurry with tears. Winterberry ran through their territory, and only stopped to look up as she realized she was lost, outside of both WaterClan and ScorchClan territory.
*I'm running away. What a horrible stuggle my life has been... Ripplestar, my very own father, shunning me because of this unusual disorder I carry... And recieving the full impact of hatred from other cats, too. Getting captured into ScorchClan where the cat who wanted to be my mate almost murdured me, then helped me escape. A battle in WaterClan territory after that, killing my father. Figuring out a prophecy all by myself. Then as soon as the sun peeked out of the clouds, my mate, Foxtail, died. And now I'm almost sure the Dark Forest wants me to join their forces.* A wave of self-pity crashed onto her as if she were a beach next to water. *Goodbye, WaterClan.* Now pictures of all her family and friends came streaming into mind. Crystalsky, Harewind, Dustpath, Lilymoon, Jaysong... and then just about everyone, including Hazelstar, popped up in her head. *Snap out of it, Winterberry... You aren't going back.* She took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and padded off into unknown land, staring at her shadow. *I'm really doing this... Running away... What will I find? Who will I meet?* The answer was right in front of her.
"H-hello? Hello?" A soft voice called. Winterberry snapped her head up, unsheathing her claws, ready to attack.
*I'm a rogue now! I'm not afraid to attack by myself.* She sharply looked around, until her gaze rested on a brown tabby tom, with slughtly shaggy fur... "What do you want?" She snapped, storming over to the tom, who cowered under her harshness.
"My name is Tabby and I was looking for a group of cats... WaterClan, I think it's called. My friend Raccoon told me she was gonna join them, and I've decided to follow her." Now that she was close, Winterberry could see every details of his eyes, and soon, the words coming out of his mouth were just meaningless babbles as she stared into his bronze eyes, flecked with green...
"Get away from me, you- you /monster/!" Tabby looked shocked and hurt.
"I'm sorry I offended you-"
"Just go! Go back to the flea-ridden pile of fox dung you came from!" Winterberry screeched, every word ripping her throat raw. Tabby /really/ looked stung now.
"I apologize... Farewell..." he turned around and walked away. Immidiately Winterberry felt guilty.
*Why was I so harsh on him? It's not like it's his fault he was in my dream... I guess my feeling got before me... I was scared of him.* A thought struck her like lightning. *If the dream was from the Dark Forest, then why is he living? And he was polite and kind, opposite of the Dark Forest.* "Wait! Tabby, hold up! Stop! Wait!" Her body reacted before her mind did as she raced back toward him. *He has the same kind heart as Foxtail. That's why his heart was made out of Foxtail's blood. The dream was from StarClan.* -&#1071|Reflections&#9830
