Welcome to the Counter Terrorist Unit.
As a new agent with the U.S. government’s elite Counter Terrorist Unit, you are expected to carefully review the contents of this handbook. Many of the situations you are likely to encounter—from assassination attempts to bioweapon attacks—are detailed within these pages. We have divided the agency’s manual into seven sections for quick reference and ease of use:
     •  Working at CTU: An overview of the office, its policies, and its facilities
     •  Gear: Essential supplies, firearms, and other tools of the trade
     •  Surveillance: A primer on tracking suspects and their vehicles
     •  Undercover Ops: Establishing cover and “going dark”
     •  Combat: From securing the perimeter to securing hostiles
     •  Interrogation: Getting the information you need when the clock is ticking
     •  Disaster Management: Live bombs, chemical attacks, and beyond
Complete with archival photographs, weaponry schematics, step-by-step instructions, and a foreword by Federal Special Agent Jack Bauer, this manual is a reference that no CTU agent can do without.

'24' has become quite the phenomenon over the past 6.5 years & I must admit, I got sucked in right away. I am now a true '24' junkie that cannot get enough. I collect all (& I do mean all) of the merchandise such as, all of the DVD BoxSets, apparel, mugs, trading cards, even a Jack Bauer action figure! But most prized (other than the DVDs), is my '24' book collection. I own EVERY SINGLE BOOK ever written on the show, wether it's a reference book, a mass-market paperback, graphic novels, I even have all of the issues of the Official Magazine (I subcribe)! But, the book @ hand here, '24:The Offical CTU Operations Manual' is in a league of it's own, in a great way! It takes place as if CTU were real & if you, the reader were a new recruit. So, the book is written in a fictional tense. There's even a Foreward by Jack Bauer (which was written by Kiefer Sutherland)! It is lavishly illustrated w/ some never-before-published photos from the 6 'Days' (Seasons). The 'clamshell' boxed case that it is covered in is stunning, w/ the '24' digital logo engraved on the front. Having a degree in Criminal Justice myself, I could tell you that some of the field info is accurate (i.e., SWAT hand signals, Phonetic Alphabet, etc.). I love the volume, & the packaging makes it ever so elegant on my '24' designated bookshelf. The only thing that I found absolutley unbelievable was the low price for such an elaborate volume.
