Overview

How do you let go of a hand you've held your whole life?

When Lisa traveled home to visit her parents in December 2011, she never expected an ordinary three-day weekend to turn into an extraordinary 14-day observance of her mother's life – and ultimately – death. From a child's first breath to a mother's last, 14 Days shows how closing that circle can be a celebration of this unbreakable bond.

I dared myself to read this book, being my own mother passed away during the exact 14 day period the author writes about. This book is funny, raw, tender, honest, visual & respectful. Many of my own feelings about death, grief & guilt were validated. A touching tribute. What a lucky mother ~ what a loving daughter.

My husband and I are reading this book together. Authentic, candid, clever, touching and humorous. We both love it!! We highly recommend this book to anyone who is already familiar with the experience of losing someone, and to all others who will eventually greet the inevitable death of a loved one. It will cast a great amount of light on an experience like no other.

Very few books in my life have ever been this rewarding. It is a true masterpiece on a subject that is all too real for each of us...the death of a loved one. Ms. Goich shares her deep, thoughtful, sometimes painful, sometimes humorous and always inspirational experience during the final 14 days of her mother's life. It is truly a gift to the reader.

Lisa's account of her mother's final days will make you laugh, and make you cry. It will certainly make you think, “Will I be there for them? Will anyone be there for me?” 14 Days is beautifully written and it's gonna get ya. Be sure to have some tissues on hand.
