This short story is an apology letter from Taryn to Jude. It truly starts off with excuses and then turns into her explaining the events of 'The Cruel Prince' from her perspective. Halfway through the story, you can see that it's less an apology and more an insight into her actual character underneath all her smiles. It showed glimpses into how selfish and twisted her true nature evolved into with every twist from Locke or bad situation in Elfhame. Basically, she's the worst character and I wouldn't put it past her to do anything to keep Locke or her place in fairy society. However if you were having withdrawals between 'The Cruel Prince' and 'The Wicked King', it was a nice little slice of Elfhame and brought light to missing pieces of the story I didn't know I needed to read.

I need to know more! I love seeing the different point of view. Well worth the read.

Oof I like Taryn now? Or understand her? Locke is still on probation but he has parent issues so maybe not???? Aaaah
