I have been a Parker fan for more than 30 years, and read all his Spenser and Jesse Stone novels. Was very saddened to read he had died. Decided to give this a try. While IMO it did not quite have the sparkle of Parker, the dialogue and characters seemed true to Parker's vision. I was enjoying it until the author felt it necessary to inject his political opinion into the story. When I am reading fiction, I neither need nor want to know the author's political opinion. In what had absolutely zero to do with the story, he had Spenser observing a BLM rally, and opining that what they were saying made a lot of sense. Of course, he has a right to that opinion, but I was disappointed to have it shoved at me in a work of fiction. I will simply find other author's to follow and spend my money on.

Dialogue not as snappy as Mr. Parker's but still superior to so many other pretenders..nice job.
