Summary:This was a book that had many different poems all describing nature. Each poem at the end asked a question such as `What am I?¿ and `Signed, ________.¿ On the next page, it describes what animal or plant was used in the poem. The poems described nature but it did not tell what was actually being written about, until the next page.Personal Reflection:I loved this book. It caught my attention on every page. All the poems just seemed to roll off my tongue. Joyce Sidman did a VERY good job with making each poem easy to read, understand, and love! The book was very educational about nature. I learned some things about nature that I did not know before. I would recommend this book.Classroom Extensions:1. This book would be great to read to children when we are discussing nature.2. I would use this book to help explain poetry to the children.

This book contains a series of poems about life in a meadow as told by the plants, insects and animals that inhabit it. The poems are also riddles and the reader guesses who the poem is about. This book is more than just poetry, however. The author provides information about each of the creatures and plants depicted in the poems.

Great integration of poetry and science. Also, highlights some plants and animals that might be less familiar to children.
