This was a very good read. Lots of information and references for patients and their families who are dealing with difficult end of life issues.
Reviewed by Edith Wairimu for Readers' Favorite Not many of us think about death and even for those who do, it is just for mere moments before we are caught up in the daily maze of life. Death in itself has often been considered a taboo subject, a horrible experience that should never be discussed. Not for Kimberly C. Paul, the author of the deeply life-changing book, Bridging the Gap: Life Lessons of the Dying. The book begins with the author’s transition from film involvement to beginning a career in hospice. Kimberly C. Paul details her life lessons along the way, including accounts of people who taught her what life is really all about. These lessons have proved invaluable to her. Bridging the Gap by Kimberly C. Paul is so many things in one. It is heartwarming, emotive and eye-opening. Along the way it caused me to laugh and cry and sometimes both at the same time. I was utterly glued from the first life lesson till the last. The discussion questions took my reading experience to a whole new level as I thought about each story in every chapter, and the messages contained within and how they applied to my life. The images were definitely a thoughtful addition to the book as they helped me put a face to the wonderful characters included. Bridging the Gap will definitely stay with me for a long time. My gratitude goes to Kimberly C. Paul and the brave characters in every section, for their frankness and willingness to share intimate parts of their lives and also for imparting my journey in the process.
